‘Feel the light’ is a garment inspired by the relationship between light and darkness. In this garment, Christina has installed fibre optic lights, so that the light can be switched on and off. She wants to express the fact that, in the darkness, people are unable to ‘see’. Yet, after the fibre optic light is switched on, the dim lights on each fibre will create different move¬ments according to the wearer’s movement. As a media of expression, the movement of the garment can be an expression of the wearer, and the dim light can create “light movement” which can be drawn into a “visible” message.
‘Useless/Useful participatory fashion performance and exhibition’ is an emerging project by designers who cooperate to offer audiences the ultimate opportunity to experience the conversion of uselessness and usefulness, by shifting the place of an object within a certain game or story. In a blurred atmosphere created by a fusion of fashion, art and performance, audiences are encouraged to fully participate by challenging, redefining and creating their own version of fashion.
